LEYENDAS CANARIAS - EL SALTO DEL GUANCHE

Leyenda Canaria de la Isla del Hierro. Ferinto es un personaje autóctono ("Bimbache") de la Isla que fue experto saltador entre riscos y barrancos. Los españoles que conquistaron El Hierro y en este caso al mando de Jean de Bethencourt, estaban desesperados por atraparle, pero mucho les costó hacerlo. Una vez que Ferinto se vio privado de su libertad, lanzó un grito tan fuerte, que atravesó la isla sobre riscos, barrancos y volcanes hasta llegar a los oídos de su madre, quien dijo al oírlo: "Mi hijo ha sido vencido"
